SoCS – But Wait, There’s More

Linda has given us an interesting word to consider for  Stream of Consciousness Saturday:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “more.” Start your post with the word “more.” Enjoy!

More than the greatest love the world has known
This is the love I’ll give to you alone

Do you know this song? I remember it as sung by Andy Williams. It from the film score for the movie “Mondo Cane” which I never saw and maybe am glad I did not. The film’s intention was to shock the world. I choose to remember it only because of this song. Here’s the clip with Andy Williams singing in a very cool sweater I might add. What more could you ask for?

That is more or less all I know about that. Now I do need to ask what the heck does ‘more or less’ actually mean? Because the word or separates the two words do we get to choose whether it is more or less? Does it mean the same thing as sort of?

Here’s a guessing game for you. One of our fellow bloggers often ends her blogs with the words “As always more to come.” Do you know who it is? Extra points from me if you do!

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amoré. Another song. It has the letters m o r e in it, but it is about love, not more. Now, see, you can speak Italian now, more or less. (See what I did there?)

Social norms can be referred to as social mores. Again, the same letters, but a different word and meaning altogether. Our world is crazy. I think social norms were thrown out the window.

What more can I tell you? Oh yes, today is my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday! Since they cannot really celebrate by having a party or any family, I think everyone sent her more presents than they normally would have. She will be celebrating all weekend.
