About Me

View of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Craggy Gardens

I am a retiree, living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is among these hills and mountains my ancestors first settled. When I decided to retire, it is where I returned. These mountains are in my blood.

I come from very humble beginnings. My grandparents lived in a small valley nestled in these mountains. It is where I established the foundation for my life, both emotionally and spiritually. I have a nostalgic connection to those simpler times and I find comfort writing about those memories.

I held many different careers but now focus on the things that bring me joy in life – blogging, reading, writing, fabricating jewelry, and creating art – but my most important roles are wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

About this blog

I started this blog on October 5, 2018. I accepted a challenge and blogged every day for 365 days. It was a great achievement  for me and I developed a great relationship with my followers and other bloggers.

What do I blog about? My life, my experiences and our relationship with those with whom we share the planet. I share my creative endeavors and I participate in a few blogging challenges. I may also give some blogging advice from time to time. I often write about my upbringing in rural America.

Who do I follow? Interesting bloggers. Writers, creatives and other intriguing people who have something interesting to share. Some funny blogs, some sad blogs and blogs by people who have overcome challenges. I love success stories. I love those who write about real life and those who write from their heart. I love to read about our differences and find our similarities in the words of others.

Welcome to my blog. I am happy to have you along on my journey.

  1. Hello Grand Ma. Lovely to have come here somehow. And something pulled me in to write to you and well, read a lot more of you in the coming time. I hope you are safe and as of now, filled with joy.
