I was a little young when the Beatles craze hit America. I remember their music at that time, butI was not a teenager screaming in adoration. Through the years, however, I came to love the majority of their music (I do not profess to love it all) as did most everyone else.
The new pseudo-documentary, “McCartney 3,2,1” popped up in my Hulu feed and I was curious. So much has been written and said about the Beatles, what else could there possibly be?
This six-part series (each episode about 30 minutes in length) surprised me. I loved hearing the back stories and I loved hearing the individual tracks isolated as the mechanics of certain songs were explored.
If you enjoy Beatles music and the process of songwriting, you might really enjoy this series. It was released in the U.S. on Hulu, and I understand it will be streaming on Disney+ in the UK August 25.
This looks good, but I don’t have HULU.

Maybe a friend will give you a logon to their account. That’s how I get to watch Hulu. It was a good series.

It does look good I have to say, I also have to say I really am no keen on Macca as a person or singer but I have to agree he’s talented as they all were. Especially George he was amazing . I shall look out for this 💜💜

It was refreshing to see. I was focused on the music and how it came together. I do not give much thought to any celebrity. We are all people. Some just have more money and recognition. But the music – that was amazing. Even the pieces I did not care for.

Like Willowdot, I have little time for McCartney. Although I bought the early singles like ‘She Loves You’, I went off The Beatles during their ‘psychedelic period’, and when they started to take themselves far too seriously. (Not Ringo of course, he never really did that.)
But I have no doubt this new film will be great for the legions of diehard fans.
Best wishes, Pete.

Well, Pete, I could never be described as a diehard fan. I like a portion of their catalog and could tell you very little about their personal lives outside of the big press stories. I do love the mechanics of writing, though. To me songwriting is like writing two simultaneous stories. One with words and another with music. This is where the enjoyment lies for me.

This will be a must see for me. Good bits and bad bits, I love everything about the fab four!

Then you will certainly enjoy it, Peter. To me it was all about the music and how it all came together. I will be anxious to hear what you think after seeing it.
