E.M.’s Sunday Ramble #17

It’s Sunday and time again for E.M.’s Sunday Ramble. She poses just a few short questions to consider.

  • The greatest feeling in the world is when I can hug those people I love – my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my brother, my nieces and nephews, or a dear friend. This is especially true since Covid.
  • The one thing that I misplace more than anything is my water glass. Water and coffee are my primary beverages and I carry my water from room to room throughout the day. At some point, I look tirelessly for my misplaced glass until I either find it or give up and get a clean glass.
  • When I am stressed out, the one item/person/thing that always makes me get back to feeling okay is letting go of the stressor. That happens through chatting with a trusted friend or through prayer or through doing some kind of art. Each works for different types of stressors.
  • When I am sick, the only thing I want is to sleep until I feel better. I don’t need anyone hovering over me, but I do like for people to check in from time to time.
  • Whenever I feel like I am procrastinating, I fix it by turning on the music! I bought a wireless bluetooth speaker and I stream my Spotify or Sirrius and pump up the volume! (Remember that movie?)

Sunday Summary – Gratitude Abounds

It has been a full week and the time has come sit back and reflect on and acknowledge all the things I have to be grateful for.

  1. March has been assertive in living up to her reputation, however spring is weasling her way onto the scene. Photos will follow below.
  2. My daughter and her family adopted a new kitten. They were all so sad about losing their beloved pet, especially my four-year-old granddaughter. Luna, born on the full moon, has certainly lifted everyone’s spirits. There is nothing like a kitten to warm your heart.
  3. Speaking of cats, I purchased three copies of Teagan’s Fe-Lines journal, two as gifts and one for myself. I love this journal. It is full of blank pages to fill with your thoughts and great quotes about cats. It is also the perfect size to always have by your side. If you are interested in purchasing one, they are available for purchase on Amazon.
  4. Yesterday we went to a gem and mineral show and a pottery show – all held at the same venue. I had high hopes for the gem show but it was a bit of a disappointment. We did make a purchase at the pottery show – we are calling them breakfast plates. The artist is Charlie Tefft. He paints images on his pottery and they are gorgeous! Watch the interesting video on his web site to learn more.  Photos below.
  5. I made Easter baskets for two of my grandchildren and delivered them early since I will not see them again until after Easter. Time is moving quickly!
  6. Yesterday I FaceTimed with my granddaughter so “Grandma can watch me paint”. Small joys are the best.
  7. A to Z is coming up soon. I am feeling a mixture of excitement, stress, and joy! Are you participating?
  8. The March winds have been something else. Today is sunny and beautiful but the wind is gusting and the temperatures are just now reaching the mid-40s! Not a day to try and work outside but a good day to read.
  9. Our spring garden seems to be doing well with the exception of the peas. We have spinach, lettuce, kale, beets, broccoli, chard, arugula, leeks, garlic chives, basil, Thai basil, parsley, cilantro, and dill. We also have potatoes skinning over ready to plant.
  10. That’s it for me. Have a fabulous week!
