We had our spring
When everything was fresh and new and blooming.
As summer arrived
Every day was longer and the heat of discord stronger.
As fall approached
Everything burst with the bold colors of possibility.
But winter was coming
The barriers between us foreshadowed the abscission to come.
We each fell away, severed from one life, one dream, one ideal.
Winter was here
Cold and dark
Spring was coming with sprigs of possibility in her hair.
