I Surrendered

NaNoWriMo started slow. I did no planning and finally decided to write my family history – a subject I enjoy a lot. It is also a subject I wanted to ensure was accurate which lead me into some very interesting but very deep rabbit holes.

Last weekend I got my flu shot which caused me to experience two days of dizzy spells. Then last Friday hubby and I both got our COVID Moderna boosters. We both ran fevers, mine accompanied extreme joint pain and a miserable headache for two days.

Long story short, I am giving myself a break. I am not pushing for 50,000 words in 30 days. I am writing, but this year, the deadline has to be of my own making.

Sometimes you just have to throw in the towel.

  1. Makes sense to me! You can easily write wonderful family history pieces without an imposed daily writing amount.

We had Moderna boosters after Pfizer and both had very sore arms, malaise, and headache. Your side effects sound much worse than ours; hope you’re both feeling better now.

    1. Lisa, we were expecting mild side effects, but this level was more than we anticipated. I am just thankful to have received the booster.

    1. Fandango, the practitioner that administered my shot said to expect a similar reaction to my second shot. It was, only worse and a bit longer lasting. Good luck. Still better than the alternative.
