Share Your World – March 1st, 2021

C7D018A9-43FB-4E9D-B21D-A8E1035F7F25 It has been a while since I participated in Melanie’s Share Your World post. Thankfully, over at Sparks From a Combustible Mind I feel comfortable popping in when the spirit moves me. Please be sure to check out her page for this feature and read how others have answered these probing questions.

Here are the questions:

Is every piece of truth worth telling?   (credit to the magnificent Cyranny for this one)

I think the truth is always worth telling if it is your own personal truth. Other peope’s truths are nunya business. That being said, I think lies trip us up and what we may try to avoid by telling one, usually comes back to haunt us. I am all for little white lies that protect people and spare them from unnecessary hurt.

Whom do you miss more Freddy Mercury or Prince?  (if you don’t know who those people are, just skip this question.  It’s cool).

I know who they are so I’m clear to answer. I have never been ‘attached’ to entertainers. I cannot miss someone I never knew. I feel sad at the loss, especially when the loss is tragic. I can miss their music or their impact on my life and the world. The music and the videos stay with us, even if the flame of life is extinguished. I might also miss the fact they cannot create new music.

If you could only email or text people for the rest of your life (no other form of communication), which would you chose?

That would be horrible. I would kick and scream and throw tantrums, but if I had to choose, I would choose text. With text it is easy to send a quick video and see and hear the people I love. To see them and hear them would be divine. I would fear with email people would not take the time in this fast-paced tech life we lead to compose and send an email. That would be very lonely.

Would you prefer to work the midnight shift at a really creepy out of the way motel OR work alone for eternity?

Give me the creepy motel.

Bonus question because yes, these are a weird bunch this week:   What’s one secret you’re still keeping from your immediate family? (no details required.  You could say something like “The lost weekend in 1982”.  You can also answer “Why I NEVER keep secrets from my nearest and dearest!”).

WHO, ME?

GRATITUDE SECTION (always optional)

Please feel free to share something uplifting that you’ve experienced so far in 2021.

Covid conversations, I have reconnected with old friends and even my children a little more. We are now having nice hour-long conversations (and more frequent ones) which helps lift the veil of this crazy pandemic isolation.

  1. I had a think.
    1) Truths you know about others are best left to them to tell.
    2) Prince. (But David Bowie, to be honest)
    3) Emails.
    4) Creepy Motel. Has to be better than always being alone.
    Bonus.
If I told you, I might have to tell them. That’s why it’s a ‘secret’. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I always loved the motto “truth will set you free but first it will make you miserable!” I think it is wise to keep up with the truth so you don’t have a lot of “splaining” to do.

  3. Thank you Maggie for Sharing Your World! You & Me and Pete at the motel then… I guess we have a team! Wonderful answers and I’m so glad you could connect with your dear ones! That does make the pandemic a little less onerous! Have a great week!
