Exercising Self Care

Today I exercise the best of self care. Coffee with hubby, watching the birds, and thinking creatively.

Today I walk away from social media. I do not read the hundreds of political posts that fly in desperation for the last word, their word, any word.

Today I go into the coziness of writing. I am in an imaginary vortex of characters that are foreign yet somehow familiar to me.

Today will unfurl without my comments. I am willing to let the flies swarm while I bask in peacefulness.

I hope you can do the same.

  1. It is something of a monumental day. Not just for the USA, but for the rest of the world too. Sadly, I understand the result will not be known for some days yet.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. The hysteria has been unsettling. I am completing a 10 day total news fast and will tune in tonight to watch the Senate races. I have been a much calmer person avoiding the news and will probably return to the quiet after tonight.

  3. Yesterday I was in a mellow mood and wrote my blog post accordingly. Many people commented which was encouraging, but today I sense a stillness in the blogosphere. Not sure what to make of it.

  4. NoNoWriMo was my official excuse to taking a sabbatical from Facebook, but stepping back from the bedlam of voices has been a welcome relief. Yes to the coziness of writing and the imaginary vortex of our characters.
