I am sharing Hugh’s post this morning concerning the demise of the WordPress Classic editor. Are you, along with me, one of those holdouts dreading the day the Editor disappears? If so, read on. There is some good news on the horizon.
Are you still using the WordPress.Com Classic editor to write your blog posts? You may have missed this important announcement from WordPress.
Thank you so much for linking to my recent blog post.
Best wishes,
Hugh

I checked out the post and followed the link to see this new ‘Classic Block’ in operation. Then I noticed that the comments were mostly negative, and WordPress had ‘closed comments” after just 9 comments! I am still on the 2012 editor, and trying to hang onto it by never logging off. If they force me onto this new system, as they claim they will, then I might disappear for some time. I have yet to see or read a single good reason for this change that I agree with. If WordPress was a person, I would give them one almighty slap!
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, I hope you do not let it get the best of you. When I look back at all the transitions I have made over time, I have crossed a number or hurdles. Now it seems funny that I worried. I might just bite the bullet and take on the new editor and do a series of “how to” posts as I go along.

I’m still using the original editor, which apparently is not the one they plan to retire (**YET**). Let’s hope they still won’t, although I think I’m hoping against all hope at this point…

Me, too, John, but I am getting closer to the edge.

Like the two commenters above, I’m still on the classic editor. I pay WP money so if they take away what I like, then I take away what they like… my money. Just saying.

I am hanging on, too, but I am starting to ask just what it is I fear.
