SoCS – Pros and Cons

If it is a debate you want, Linda has the perfect prompt this week for Stream of Consciousness Saturday this week:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “pro/con.” Talk about the pros and cons of anything. Enjoy!

I am tired of conflict. I am tired of problems. I am tired of consternation. I no longer have the proclivity to argue the pros and cons of viruses, elections, masks, or the proverbial chicken and egg theories that encompass everything.

I am not convinced mankind can ever agree on anything and that inability to compromise will keep us divided.

As improbable as it seems, I am constantly trying to think positively. I hold thoughts of forward progress and discovering constructive ways to work as a nation of people who hold the same values.

Now I am off to process this isolation conundrum.

  1. Worth trying positive thoughts, Maggie. But as we get older, idealism gets worn away, like the effect of running water over a rock over time. All we have left is hope.
    So I still hope.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. It is tiresome… our current state of affairs. Positive thoughts helps though even when getting there is rough. I’m in perpetual reminder mode these days.

  3. I get tired of conflict, too and often have to take breaks. Some people get hooked into drama and the habit of negative thinking which is reinforced by much of our media. But this can change with practice. We can learn to give positive thoughts equal time or better. We can find plenty of common ground.
