Today the challenge is to find a film with a soundtrack I love. Some soundtracks I really enjoy, like “French Kiss” and “The Thomas Crown Affair” (the remake) but I would not say I love them. I was pretty sure Iwas going to go with “Flashdance” but decided instead to take a different turn.
The movie “Forrest Gump” is packed with the music of my generation. I love it all. I took a screenshot of the track list from Wikipedia to show you why I love it. This is great sing-along music.
I decided to take on this challenge for July after reading about it from SandmanJazz. Check out his blog and his entry for the ninth day of the challenge. Maybe even join in!
Avoiding musicals, I have a fairly easy choice. ‘The Blues Brothers’ is such a happy film, and the songs suit it so well. A close second place goes to a film with no songs, but the haunting guitar of Ry Cooder. ‘Paris Texas’. It works so well when watching the film.
Best wishes, Pete.

I love good instrumental music, myself, too, Pete. I agree with The Blues Brothers.

I had forgotten how many songs were on that soundtrack. That’s an excellent choice, Maggie.

I love the songs on Diner and American Graffiti.

Don, Diner rings a familiar bell, but I cannot fully remember it. The soundtrack is amazing, though, I agree! I almost chose American Graffiti for this challenge!

Shame on me for waiting until the wee hours of the night to do my post. I planned on doing the one you did. Oh well. Back to the drawing board. Great choice Maggie.

The same young man who took me to see “Goldfinger” also took me as a college freshman to see “Sound of Music.” We both loved it, being too naive to understand that we were supposed to look down on such plebeian entertainment in favor of foreign films.
