30 Day Film Challenge/Day 3

We have arrived at day 3 of the 30 day film challenge.

The day 3 challenge is a film that made you laugh out loud. This will be an interesting challenge because I find that an individual sense of humor varies widely from person to person. I also think movies we find funny at a certain age and or time in our lives will not seem so funny at a later date. Humor is definitely a matter of personal taste. I like easy comedy and some things people find funny, I do not.

There are movies that have funny moments but not enough to carry the movie as a full fledge laugh out loud movie. So I settled on the 1989 film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, starring John Candy and Steve Martin. It is about two VERY different people finding their way home for Thanksgiving against peril after peril. If language offends you, however, it might not be the film for you.

This has become one of our go-to movies we watch around the holidays since it references the Thanksgiving season. It is much more fun to watch with several people. Laughter feeds off the laughter of others. Ever notice movies are much funnier when other people are laughing along with you?

Of course, I am a sucker for a happy ending and as sappy as this one is, it does not disappoint.

I decided to take on this challenge for July after reading about it from SandmanJazz. Check out his blog and his entry for the third day of the challenge. Maybe even join in!
