It’s Friday (I think…)

Yesterday I was convinced it was Saturday. I could not shake that weekend feeling. Maybe it was the rain or maybe it is my current mental state, but I’m fairly certain today is Friday.

Last night I added a couple of additional pieces to my Writing in the Pandemic page. I need to find a better way to organize them. I would not mind them being posts, but unless I make my home page a static page, I do not know how to keep new posts from appearing on the front page. I did not want to post 10 different posts and have them overwhelm my followers. Maybe if they were a gallery?

Last night I had my first pandemic dream. I was in an overly-crowded grocery store and no one (including myself) was masked or exercising any social distancing. I suddenly touched my face and realized we were in the middle of a pandemic and I started pouring hand sanitizer all over my hands. I was quite frightened but also aware it was a dream and I kept encouraging myself to wake up. Not sure what brought that on all of a sudden.

Last night hubby grilled two Cornish game hens. They were so good. We have quite a few leftovers in the fridge thankfully. I think I hit a wall the last few days. I found my ability to focus on reading or anything requiring concentration quite difficult. My plan today is to put on some music and bake. I really want some homemade cinnamon rolls. There is something about the smell of cinnamon and brown sugar baking together that just fills my soul.

My daughter shared a video this morning of our almost three-year-old granddaughter reading a book to her cat. The most adorable thing. I miss them so much and am so thankful for the technology that allows me to see these moments.

Our hummingbirds were here two weeks ago, but they seem to have disappeared. The bluebirds are here frequently throughout the day. The weather is cool again and rainy, so I am hopeful they will re-emerge.

Hubby has made some progress on our new 8×10 (rectangular) U-shaped garden. Once complete, we will do a curbside pickup of some veggie starts. We hope to have a nice summer garden. I have blooms on some of the tomatoes as well as the strawberries and raspberries.

I hope your week has gone well and you have something uplifting to look forward to this weekend. I am sure tomorrow is Saturday because Linda posted the prompt for SoCS!
