More in the series of What Day Is It Anyway?
We started getting weather warnings about the impending storms early yesterday morning. There was a line of strong storms headed our way. Before long, the entire state of N.C. was at an elevated risk level for high winds, flooding and tornadoes. We have learned to take these cautions seriously, especially when the storm passes in the overnight hours when most people are sleeping. Meteorologists were suggesting at least one person in the family stay awake in case of warnings.
I think in the big scheme of things we fared well. Others in our country were not so fortunate. The storm left damage and loss of life throughout the southeastern states. At least 22 people killed.
We had a lot of rain, some winds and a tornado warning at 4:00 am. I believe it was this line of storms that destroyed an industrial plant in Seneca, SC and damaged homes and downed trees along its path.
We are fortunate. Almost all of our family, spread out as they are, were in the path of the storm throughout the early morning hours. Thankfully, all came through unscathed.
I will pop in later to write another post perhaps. We did not get much sleep last night, so I may opt for an afternoon nap instead. I hope you are all safe and well.
