I am swirling in the lost days which is strange considering I am retired. I think I should be used to days running together, but truthfully, even in retirement, we had things going on that helped keep the calendar straight.

Okay, male readers…girl talk coming. You have been warned.

So how do we keep track of our days? When I was a kid, day-of-the-week panties were a thing. The odd thing is the early sets did not have a Sunday panty.

Which reminds me of these lines from the movie “When Harry Met Sally”:

Harry: So how come you broke up with Sheldon?
Sally: How do you know we broke up?
Harry: Because if you didn’t break up, you wouldn’t be with me, you’d be off with Sheldon the Wonder Schlong.
Sally: First of all, I am not with you. And second of all, it is none of your business why we broke up.
Harry: You’re right, you’re right. I don’t want to know.
Sally: Well, if you must know, it was because he was very jealous and I had these Days of the Week underpants.
Harry: [He makes a loud buzzer sound] I’m sorry. I need a judge’s ruling on this. Days of the Week underpants?
Sally: Yes. They had the days of the week on them, and I thought they were sort of funny – and then one day, Sheldon says to me, ‘You never wear Sunday.’ He’s all suspicious. Where was Sunday? Where had I left Sunday? And I told him, and he didn’t believe me.
Harry: What?
Sally: They don’t make Sunday.
Harry: Why not?
Sally: Because of God.

They are still available if you want to order some, but a) not sure they will be delivered and b) not sure if Sunday would be included so you would still need to track at least one day. 😂

I took a break from this post. I decided to go take a much needed afternoon nap. It was wonderful. That deep, what day is it kind of nap. Do you find you are more lethargic in this crazy isolated world?

We had a big salad for lunch and are having more of hubby’s homemade vegetable soup tonight. He makes his own vegetable stock from scratch, then makes the soup. I used the remainder of the stock last night to make a spicy vegetable jambalaya. It was so tasty.

My dear friends are recording these days of social distancing in a joint journal. What a great idea. Their journal is handwritten on paper. I suppose all I have to say will be recorded here.

Is it just me, or are you suspicious of every little sneeze, cough or runny nose? Pollen is NOT helping.

If you are having trouble keeping track of the days, you might want to consider What Day Is It Anyway posts. I am linking over to Linda’s post so I can see how other fellow bloggers are faring.

  1. I was at the dentist last week. The sign on the door said not to enter if you had a high temperature or a cough. I had neither but wanted to cough as soon as I read the notice. Took my seat – social distancing – in the waiting room. A woman came, sat along from me and I coughed. Just a gentle little – just have to clear my throat – cough. She got up, said something to the receptionist and left! I’m still wondering if it was because of my little cough.

  2. One of our daughters and her family are moving to North Carolina. When we go visit later this year, I’d love a cup of your husband’s veggie soup.

  3. I never nap. I wake up grumpy, then can’t sleep that night. I thought today was Monday, because we went to the supermarket. I usually go on Mondays, so that threw me completely. Shows how routine and mundane my life normally is. 🙂 Otherwise, the days usually merge into one. I no longer really care what day it is since I retired. For me, that is one of the perks. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. It is much the same for us, but we do have a lot of family normally on the work schedule so that keeps us more aware of normal working activities, Pete. We generally stay away from weekend shopping.

  4. Well, my hubbie and I are totally pollen-sensitive now (maybe an occupational hazard over many years) , so our eyes are running and our noses are dripping. I have a raspy throat, a very productive cough, but otherwise, we’re both fine, hunkering down.
